My class used the following centers:


Listening Station:  Students listen to a tape and look at the book.  When they are done, they complete a worksheet that focuses on the literacy skill learned in group lessons such as plot, character, etc.

Poetry:  Each week the students get a new page that will be put in their Poetry Notebook.  The front of the paper is an easy poey and the back is a more difficult one.  Students use a yellow marker to locate words in the poem that appear on our word wall.

Read-To-Self:  Students read the books in their book bags that were introduced in previous lessons working with the teacher.

Read With the Teacher:  Students work in reading leveled groups on skills, rereading previous texts, and trying to read a new text.
